Visited late 2022 and just tried the breakfast buffet. We arrived in Baguio before 7 and this is one of the few breakfast spots open early. Our friend picked us up from the bus station and parking in the hotel basement was easy. The lobby was impressive and after having come from a long bus ride, we were happy to freshen up in their well-appointed restrooms. Food at the buffet was fairly good but we felt it was about 15-20% overpriced for the selection. Not sure if they've adjusted the price or beefed up their spread since then. If you're a checked-in guest and you get this as your complimentary breakfast, it's not a bad deal at all, but I wouldn't go back there just for the breakfast buffet. The merienda buffet seems like a much better deal plus you get a better view from the balcony so I'd like to come back for that. Hopefully that will deserve 4-5 stars. The hotel is in a good location, fairly central but in a quieter part of Baguio.
Went there for a new years eve celebration with family.
We requested beforehand vegetarian options for the meal and it was told to us that there will be some available.
In reality only siders (mashed potatoes, a salad, etc) were prepared.
When we asked the sushi chef to make us some Kappa Maki, he denied. We had to go through the management to finally get at least one of the promised vegetarian options. Underwhelming.
The band was loud and actually quite bad. I mean the drummer couldn't find a beat, singers were not that skilled either. Falls back on management, again, to hire such an outfit.
After 9pm, we could transfer to the veranda on the 5th floor. We were given paper cups (!!!) "for draft beer" (quote). Gosh, that left an impression. You guys don't want to offer glasses to your paying guests?
We'll, it seems they got the message from not so happy guests and suddenly glasses were available.
Drinks were served from 9:30pm, so we sat at an empty table for 30min. What a bummer and what bad planning. Beer was good (German beers, lager and white beer), the offered wines were atrocious (sour). I don't even want to mention the buffet with a dead end where people got stuck and the following people had to make space over and over again, so it was horribly slow.
Again, bad band until fireworks and final call at 12:30 due to noise restrictions.
Overall an underwhelming experience. Not recommended.
Lovely hotel with restaurant and outside seating. The breakfast was amazing not just for the food but also the area we sat with the beautiful views. Service was excellent.
The room was lovely and clean with everything you needed. The location was ok although on the outskirts of the main city it was only a short walk to get a jeepney in.
To be honest, I havent tried the rooms. The time we visited was to eat at the buffet area. Another hidden gem in the City of Baguio. The spread may be little but at least you get the best of their dishes for the price of 252 pesos only. They have vegetable salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked fries, fried chicken with delicious gravy, spaghetti in red and white sauce, pansit and pizza. U nlimited coffee and juice 😊 the staff are very approachable 😊 definitely a place to go if you want good food which is affordable.
Visited this hotel on a beautiful sunny Sunday. I saw their post for their pizza and pasta buffet promo so, off we went to give it a try.
The hotel is located at Outlook Drive, just off Baguio Country Club. In fact, their frontage (and their cafe and buffet dining areas) have an awesome view of the golf course.
Their "merienda" buffet starts at 1pm, but we were there as early as 12nn since we read in other reviews that there is always a line to get in. Thankfully, we were only 4th in line (after a group of 8, 20 and 17!). We got the last table overlooking the golf course. There are also tables set up inside their conference room. By the looks of it, there must have been at least 300 pax that day.
On to their pizza and pasta buffet. Their salads were quite good. The fresh greens had a nice light dressing, and the macaroni and potato salads were equally delicious. Then it goes downhill from there.
Their pizza was passable. Good variety, but they were a bit underdone. The only condiment available was hot sauce. No pepper (or maybe the wait staff was just lazy to ask the kitchen).
The pasta was underwhelming. The white sauce was bland. The red sauce - watery with almost no meat in it. The pasta - soggy and broken-up.
Their fries were ok though. Chicken was a bit over-fried (dry), but passable nonetheless.
For dessert, they had avocado soft-serve for P10/cup, and Mais con Hielo at P25/bowl. Both were good.
Brewed coffee was also good.
Overall, worth a visit, while they are on promo pricing.
Pros:
Well-accommodating front staff
Spacious room and bath
Air conditioned
Breakfast at penthouse with great view
Cons:
They don’t bill straight to dollars/other currencies(cases)
Quite pricey
No fool-proof PA/telephone in the room, you have to use Viber instead
No carpet for the price you paid
They have other countries standards on electrical outlets, there were plenty in the room but only one we found that matches our gadgets, dumb idea!
With the money I spent here during my stay isn’t so worth it compare to the ones at Camp John Hay hotels.
Food is really good, I recommend the All Meat Pizza and their Ube Ensaymada, I just don't like that the service is slow a bit slow, but overall the food is really great and the location is a nice place to relax.
Our visit to Hotel Grande was an absolute treat! From the unlimited pizza, pasta, and chicken buffet priced at an incredible 252 pesos per person to the delightful perk of unlimited brewed coffee, our taste buds are in paradise. The heavenly soft ice cream at 10 pesos per cup was the perfect sweet finale. Hotel Grande surpassed our expectations with a serene and peaceful ambiance and attentive and kind employees. We're already planning our next visit - it's a definite must-return destination!
